Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Breast Center team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Nurse Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our clinical research programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients, ensuring seamless communication between clinical research, physicians, and patients.
  • Assist physicians with bedside procedures, patient examinations, and diagnostic tests, while maintaining a high level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, and side effects, utilizing effective psychosocial communication skills.
  • Communicate with clinic coordinators to schedule follow-up appointments, ancillary testing, and pre-operative procedures.
  • Arrange patient admissions and coordinate ordering of tests and procedures with fellows, attendings, and other nursing staff.
  • Assist in the coordination of research programs by screening patients for clinical research and outcome programs, maintaining office file notes, and reviewing charts.
Requirements
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working as an RN in a community health setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
