Role Overview:
We are actively seeking skilled Breast Imaging Specialists to enhance our Diagnostic Team. This role involves acquiring mammographic images essential for medical evaluations and treatments. These images are analyzed by board-certified radiologists to detect breast abnormalities. The Breast Imaging Specialist operates under the guidance of senior personnel and is expected to perform duties in both full-time and part-time capacities, with varying shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct routine mammography imaging examinations and procedures.
2. Follow departmental protocols to ensure optimal imaging quality.
3. Gather comprehensive patient histories and medical records.
4. Educate patients regarding breast health and care.
5. Navigate electronic medical records and assist with scheduling and clerical tasks.
6. Perform quality control checks on mammography equipment.
7. Support the training of mammography students.
8. Uphold radiation safety practices and respond to service inquiries.
9. Comply with regulatory standards and report equipment issues as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current licensure in medical radiography by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
- Modality-specific certification in Mammography by ARRT.
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
