Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to deliver expert technical support across all facets of Information Security. This role involves close collaboration with the customer team and various IT departments to ensure that security is integrated into IT systems from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide incident response, manage system access approvals, conduct audit log reviews, and oversee Configuration Control Board activities while offering daily consultations on a diverse range of security matters.
  • Identify and determine the appropriate group or process to meet security requirements.
  • Document, report, and investigate all incidents related to IT security; assist in the development and execution of corrective actions.
  • Implement protective and corrective measures upon discovering incidents or vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to Information Security procedures.
  • Verify that Information Assurance hardware and software align with security configuration guidelines.
  • Perform Operations & Sustainment (O&S) functions for the network security infrastructure, including firewalls, web gateways, mail gateways, intrusion detection systems, load balancers, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Conduct maintenance and advanced configuration of equipment to safeguard the network against emerging cyber threats.
  • Analyze forensic traffic and logs to troubleshoot issues or respond to alerts from analysts.
  • Support integration testing and execute remediation processes to implement technical solutions addressing vulnerabilities identified through security scans.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; significant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data security administration.
  • Proficiency in network routing and VLAN technology is essential.
  • Possession of IAM I certification is required to start, with the expectation to obtain IAM II or III certification within 6 months.
  • Familiarity with ICD 503 and Cloud Infrastructure/AWS solutions is necessary.
  • Understanding of the government Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and systems security requirements enforcement.
  • Experience with security tools such as EVSS, ACAS, HBSS, Tenable, RedSeal, Splunk, and EMET is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct technical decomposition, categorization, remediation, and lien resolution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.
  • Experience with the Certification and Accreditation process is advantageous.

Desired Skills:

  • CISSP certification or equivalent (CAP, GSLC, CISM) is preferred.
  • Experience in system administration and network engineering.
  • Background in system design and development is a plus.
