Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior TechOps Engineer is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of end-user computing systems and server infrastructure across various environments, including on-premises, private, and public cloud settings. This role involves:
- Setting up and managing administrator and service accounts.
- Maintaining comprehensive system documentation.
- Tuning system performance in hybrid environments.
- Installing software across the system and managing storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Overseeing SaaS and PaaS solutions in public cloud environments.
- Evaluating and integrating new and emerging technologies.
- Providing expert-level support as an L3 resource for the End-User Services team.
The successful candidate will:
- Operate and maintain all production, pre-production, and development systems in a hybrid Windows and Linux environment.
- Conduct system administration tasks, including account management and resource allocation.
- Monitor systems, audit logs, and ensure continuity of operations and security.
- Test and install new software and updates regularly.
- Assist with security-related root cause analyses and remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Manage security patching and remediation for both server and end-user clients.
- Oversee systems lifecycle management, including planning and decommissioning of hardware and software.
- Develop technical documentation, including user guides and change management plans.
- Support escalated incidents from the Global Service Desk.
- Lead complex end-user computing projects and collaborate with the global IT team.
- Mentor junior team members and educate users on new technologies.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems (Windows 2008 to Windows 2019).
- Knowledge of patch management and backup/restore processes.
- Familiarity with VMware management.
- Strong skills in Microsoft PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Knowledge of server and SAN hardware.
- Experience in a global or multi-office infrastructure.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
- Linux systems administration.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 4 years of experience, or at least 10 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
CertificationsPreferred certifications include applicable Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) and cloud-based certifications (e.g., Azure, M365, AWS).
