About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Architect to lead our architectural group, drive business development opportunities, and expand our focus on mixed-use development and residential architecture.

This is a working principal role, meaning you will actively work on projects as well as lead them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of architects, designers, and project managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in mixed-use and residential architecture, develop and maintain client relationships, and prepare compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Project Oversight and Execution: Actively participate in and lead architectural projects, ensuring high-quality design and execution, and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement strategies to expand K5 Company's market presence in mixed-use and residential architecture, stay abreast of industry trends, and represent K5 Company at industry events.
  • Financial Management: Take responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the architectural group, develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, and monitor financial performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Architect in either Florida or Michigan with a minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Proven track record in leading architectural projects, particularly in mixed-use and residential developments.
  • Strong business development skills with the ability to identify and secure new opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing P&L responsibilities and financial planning.
