The Speech Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services, ensuring patient safety, satisfaction, and resource management through professional practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adheres to safety protocols and accurately documents all relevant precautions and patient status updates.
- Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations and records findings in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
- Completes necessary progress notes and reassessments, ensuring documentation aligns with applicable policies.
- Implements effective treatment plans that facilitate patient progress towards their rehabilitation goals, documenting all procedures as required.
- Participates in departmental meetings during scheduled hours and reviews meeting minutes when unable to attend. Engages in educational sessions provided by colleagues and trainees.
- Responds promptly to therapy referrals and inquiries.
- Collaborates with team members to review daily assignments and schedules.
- Educates patients, families, and staff about therapy services tailored to individual patient needs.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by meeting scheduling demands, achieving productivity goals, and utilizing resources efficiently.
- Records charges that correspond with the services rendered and the documented treatment duration.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Possession of a valid Speech Therapist license in Florida.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency or a willingness to learn.
- Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to employment and maintain it.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
- Ability to assist with lifting, standing, and supporting patients as needed.
- Capability to bend and stoop as required for patient care.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks within specified weight limits and frequencies.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Capacity to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
- Able to maintain focus under pressure and in distracting environments.
