Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate financial statements, providing comprehensive financial analysis on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Investigate accounting issues to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including managing journal entries and invoices, and reconciling accounts for various closing periods.
  • Audit and Tax Preparation: Act as a liaison for external auditors and tax professionals, contributing to the annual audit and tax return preparations.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in developing internal controls and policies to comply with regulations and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with all business areas to provide reliable data and analyses critical for strategic decision-making.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience: 12+ years in accounting, including:
  • 5+ years in Government services contracting.
  • 5+ years with Deltek Costpoint.
  • 5+ years in general ledger and monthly closing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Exceptional analytical, technological, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: MBA with 10+ years of accounting experience.
  • Certifications: CPA.
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment requiring frequent computer and phone use, along with sitting, standing, and walking.
  • May involve light lifting, estimated under 20 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Apogee offers two medical plans, including a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, along with dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and various paid leaves.
  • The salary range for this position is $113,000 to $138,660, considering multiple factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, and certifications.
