Phlebotomy Specialist

UnityPoint Health is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experience. As a Phlebotomy Specialist - Laboratory, you will play a critical role in supporting this mission by delivering timely, accurate, and efficient blood specimen collection services.
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients in all age groups, ensuring accurate labeling and adherence to standard work processes.
- Support the LEAN principles of one piece flow and first in first out when delivering patient samples to the laboratory.
- Exercise judgment in determining work priority and interact with nursing units and clients to ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies.
- Implement the continuous quality improvement process by exemplifying a professional, compassionate, and cooperative representative of the Laboratory, thus providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy course is preferred.
