Behavioral Health Associate I

The Behavioral Health Associate I works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse as an integral part of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting of patient behaviors, providing continuous patient care and supervision, and assisting in patient data collection and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the wellbeing of patients and provide a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure that supervision is conducted at intervals in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines.
- Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
- Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
- Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, and independent living skills.
- Take and record vital signs properly and communicate significant changes in patient condition to the charge nurse.
- Chart in patient records timely, accurately, and appropriately.
- Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage patient emotions and behavior.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
