We are seeking a qualified full-time Financial Operations Manager to oversee the accounting functions for various properties throughout Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting processes for multiple properties, including account reconciliation and bank statement balancing.
  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, ensuring accurate posting of journal entries.
  • Generate monthly financial reports and manage payroll processing, including 1099 preparation.
  • Assist with the establishment of new properties and support annual audits and budget preparations.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare budgets in compliance with various governing bodies and investor requirements.
  • Provide financial reporting, interpreting how financial statements reflect property performance.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and balance accounts for the entire portfolio.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting for all properties.
  • Facilitate new property setups and audit preparations.
  • Monitor financial ledgers across the portfolio and post necessary journal entries.
  • Analyze financial statements and communicate insights to stakeholders regarding monthly transactions and variances.
  • Calculate and adjust escrow analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in affordable property management.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Proficient in Yardi Property Management Software.
  • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work.
