Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team at BlueScope Coated Products. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for preparing materials for packaging and shipping of finished coils, ensuring they are properly identified and stored in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Materials Preparation: Prepare materials for packaging and shipping of finished coils, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Packaging and Shipping: Package finished coils in a safe and efficient manner, and move them to designated storage areas.
  • Quality Control: Verify that finished goods are properly identified and not damaged or visibly non-conforming prior to storage.
  • Quarantine and Notification: Quarantine non-conforming material and notify Quality Control when non-conforming conditions exist.
  • Communication: Communicate daily with internal personnel to resolve problems and achieve company goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents, and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions and solve problems.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ability to understand metal and paint characteristics, and operate power hand tools and forklifts.
Work Environment

The employee will work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and extreme temperatures. The noise level is moderate, and the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain areas.
