Operations Manager

At Precision Brand Products Inc., we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of our manufacturing floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective production processes, maintaining high quality and safety standards, and managing operational staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Management: Supervise daily production and manufacturing, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies for efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets.
- Monitor and Adjust Production Schedules: Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
- Maintain Positive Working Relationship: Maintain a positive working relationship with union representatives and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Participate in Union Negotiations: Participate in union negotiations and discussions as required.
- Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure that all products meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Implement Health and Safety Policies: Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Lead and Coach Staff: Lead, coach, and develop operational staff to meet performance goals and encourage continuous improvement.
- Conduct Performance Evaluations: Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.
- Foster a Culture of Accountability: Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
- Monitor Expenses: Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Report on Key Metrics: Report on key operational and financial metrics to local senior management.
- Implement Strategies for Efficiency: Implement strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Lead Initiatives: Lead initiatives aimed at process improvement and productivity enhancement.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing Principles: Apply lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to drive operational optimization.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Union Experience: Experience in a unionized environment.
- Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of operational processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to Manage Priorities: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Operations Software: Proficiency in operations software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Negotiation and Conflict Resolution: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Project Management: Effective project management and organizational skills.
- Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Integrity and Professionalism: High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Production Facility: The Operations Manager will work in a production facility, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing environment.
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lifting and Carrying: May be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
