The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and routine tests in a medical laboratory, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and processing of specimens to be sent to outside labs.
  • Assist in the phlebotomy room to draw blood and restock supplies as needed.
  • Transport patients' blood and gold slips to the main lab area in a timely manner.
  • Pour off urine specimens to be sent to reference labs and pack up specimens with requisitions.
  • Assist lab technicians as needed and perform related duties.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be able to perform essential and non-essential duties satisfactorily. You should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required, and previous experience in phlebotomy is preferred. Medical terminology is a must.

Language Skills

You should be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, as well as effectively communicate with staff and clients.Reasoning Ability

You should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Computer Skills

You should have knowledge of Medical Software and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting books and files of approximately 50 lbs. or less.
