Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist IV to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance work on buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform highly advanced maintenance and repair work on buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment, including renovation, restoration, and alteration.
• Conduct inspections, adjustments, and maintenance work on building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical.
• Evaluate work to be performed and determine the best method for performing maintenance and repair work.
• Design projects to conform to applicable codes and standards, and ensure that necessary tools and manpower are available to perform the work.
• Act as a lead worker on construction, maintenance, or repair projects, establishing work schedules, assigning staff, and overseeing repairs or renovations.
• Maintain safe and uninterrupted services to campus operations and programs systems, recognizing improper operation and deterioration of the system.
• Accurately process paperwork and maintain records on work orders, projects, and material requisitions.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and operations of buildings, building systems, and grounds.
• Knowledge of electronics, boilers, painting, plastering, and carpentry, as well as building materials, plumbing, and electrical fixtures.
• Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, estimate materials, and apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in the maintenance and repair of buildings, building, and utility systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches, and organize preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to supervise the work of others, work independently or with a team, and communicate effectively orally or in writing with other members of the maintenance and facility team.
