Job Summary

Tarkett is seeking a highly skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and understand technical information and data points, demonstrating solid mathematical skills
  • Perform high voltage to low voltage installation and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot machines, install controllers and counters, and repair AC-DC motor control
  • Order new or replacement maintenance parts following Tarkett's ordering process
  • Repair and build guards using gas welding/cutting and milling machines
  • Maintain fire protection systems
  • Use pipe threading machines to cut and thread pipe, making die changes as needed
  • Be knowledgeable of high and low pressure systems
  • Rebuild valves, cylinders, pumps, air tools, and paint spray guns
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including repair or replacement of hydraulic valves and pumps, and replace or repair broken gear boxes
  • Weld molds and make guide pins for molds, and make and repair hinges and heat platinum
  • Service tow motors and electric forklifts, including maintaining battery charges, belts, horns, lights, wiring, tires, and hoses
  • Maintain or repair boiler/compressor, roof, and HVAC systems
  • Start various pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, presses to ensure production can begin at any given time
  • May be assigned duties included in other trade classifications
  • Must be responsible for observing all safety rules and regulations
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Trade or Technical College certificate/diploma or at least 5 years related experience in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Willingness to attend classes and/or seminars on new technology or maintenance related skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with various personality types
  • Ability to participate on teams in safety, quality, and process improvement
Physical Requirements
  • Perform work within the maintenance department based on business needs, including performing duties on presses and other equipment
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and push objects weighing 3-75 lbs. on a continuous basis for the duration of the shift
  • Standing: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
  • Walking: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
  • Bending and Twisting: Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
  • Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment): Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
  • Noise (percent of time working in loud, production environment): Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer experience in programs such as SAP and Excel
  • WCM tools knowledge and/or experience
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators for maintenance department
