As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Engaging Lesson Plans: Design and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Effective Communication: Utilize ASL to communicate effectively with deaf or hard of hearing students, ensuring seamless interaction and understanding.
- Foster a Positive Classroom Environment: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Student Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure academic success.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student success and promote a culture of inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Certification: Valid state teaching certification.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Communication and Classroom Management Skills: Strong communication and classroom management skills to effectively manage a diverse classroom environment.
- Experience: Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students is preferred.
