Job Title: Cardiac Monitor Technician

Join Highmark Health as a Cardiac Monitor Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care in our cardiology department.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team. As a Cardiac Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for performing continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately analyze, interpret, and record ECG rhythms according to procedure.
  • Maintain continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport, identifying changes and responding or reporting to the RN as appropriate.
  • Clean and maintain the telemetry monitors/holders and account for monitor upon patient discharge.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of central station and bedside monitors, ensuring alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
  • Perform other unit-specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED, or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire.
  • CPR - American Heart Association certification.
Preferred Qualifications:

EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience are preferred but not required.
