Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on fire apparatus and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain emergency response apparatus and equipment
  • Perform diagnostic and repair work on fire pumps, governor systems, and other equipment
  • Clean and maintain equipment, as necessary
  • Prepare maintenance reports and maintain activity records

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4 years of experience inspecting and repairing heavy equipment
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Virginia State Inspection License required
  • Master Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck and Master Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) required

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions. The ability to lift up to 150 pounds and work in a team environment is required.
