About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Brookdale Senior Living. As a key member of our community operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of our buildings and grounds, as well as overseeing the maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise and train maintenance staff, including hiring, evaluating performance, and resolving disciplinary issues.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs and coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of life safety systems, including fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of apartments and common areas, including refurbishment for move-ins.
  • Ensure the outside of the property is maintained, including landscaping, snow removal, and garbage/trash removal.
  • Prepare and follow approved budgets, track utility consumption, and maintain inventory control for general supplies, parts, and equipment.
  • Assess and resolve plumbing and electrical problems, and review safety data sheets as needed.
  • Respond to resident or community emergencies as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and a minimum of three to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Valid state driver's license required for vehicle travel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
