Position Overview:

Tramec LLC, situated in Alsip, Illinois, is a premier distributor of fasteners, specializing in internally threaded fasteners. The Logistics Receiving Supervisor will oversee all functions within the Receiving Department and manage freight put-away operations. Utilizing a hands-on approach, your primary objective will be to enhance operational efficiencies, foster a safe working environment, and assess product quality through inspections.

Key Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment and training of frontline staff.
  • Organize, direct, and supervise the schedules and tasks of frontline employees.
  • Deliver constructive and timely performance feedback.
  • Support the management of employee discipline and terminations in line with company policies.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other managers to synchronize activities across departments.
  • Manage scheduling and work assignments.
  • Create put-away documentation for all incoming products.
  • Assist in conducting quality inspections for all incoming shipments.
  • Weigh and package pallets.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers.
  • Oversee inventory control and product placement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dock area.
  • Collect, evaluate, analyze, and assess receiving data.
  • Regularly inspect and evaluate products for quality and defects.
  • Identify and rectify issues and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational guidelines, particularly those related to safety and health.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work with other departmental managers to create and manage budgets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience required.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds as needed.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
