Job Description

Teledyne is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-speed digital products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead a team of hardware design engineers to develop high-speed digital products.
  • Design and develop board and system-level high-speed digital circuits, including simulation and evaluation.
  • Perform high-speed circuit simulation using tools such as HSPICE, Hyperlinx, and ADS.
  • Generate PCB layout guidelines and work with outside PCB layout service providers.
  • Perform board bring-up and work with firmware/logic engineers to ensure product functionality.
  • Design and implement unit characterization tests, production tests, and integration tests.
  • Develop system and board-level tests and test procedures to ensure product meets electrical and engineering specifications.
  • Work with mechanical engineers to design product enclosures and cross-check with electrical designs.
  • Support manufacturing and customer support on various issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of hands-on system/board-level design experience designing and developing high-end, high-speed embedded platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years of managing/leading hardware development teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of high-speed design methodologies and simulation, including latest generation of bus technologies such as PCIe, USB, SAS/SATA, and/or Ethernet.
  • Excellent knowledge in high-speed clock circuit design, implementation, and measurements.
  • Knowledge in high-speed simulation using HSpice, Hyperlinx, or similar tools and applying the concepts to board layout.
  • Strong background in debug, high-speed timing, and jitter analysis and measurement.
  • Working knowledge of various EMC/EMI control methods and implementation at PCB/component level.
  • Working experience with various schematic entry tools and test/measurement equipment, including high-speed, real-time oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • Strong system development experience with a holistic approach.
  • Experience being a team player, able to mentor and share knowledge, learn from others, and support other groups within an organization.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage/lead technical teams focusing on developing high-speed data communication products.
Education:

BS/MS in EE or CE (MS preferred)
