About the Role

Burcham Hills Retirement Community is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist/Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Recreation Therapist/Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and implementing engaging recreation and activity programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead group and one-to-one recreation activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with the recreation therapy team to create a comprehensive activity program that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist in planning, directing, and evaluating the recreation program to ensure it meets the needs of our residents.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality and customer service to our residents, families, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred or coursework in eldercare, recreation, event planning, or related subjects.
  • Experience working with geriatrics in a long-term care, assisted living, or other related residential health care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to obtain a chauffeur's driver's license and maintain an excellent driving record.
