Job Summary

The Nursing Department at Central Arizona College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Nursing Assisting (NA) courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the nursing program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction:
    • Deliver lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions to students in a variety of settings, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
    • Develop and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments to meet the needs of students and the nursing program.
    • Evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students, including grading and commenting on assignments and exams.
  • Student Support and Services:
    • Provide academic advising and support to students, including guidance on course selection, career development, and academic progress.
    • Refer students to college and community resources as needed, including counseling, tutoring, and disability services.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration:
    • Participate in professional development activities, including workshops, conferences, and online courses, to enhance teaching skills and stay current in the field of nursing education.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and improve teaching practices.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a current, active RN license and a minimum of one year of experience working as an RN in a healthcare setting. Additionally, the candidate should have experience teaching adults or supervising nursing assistants. A 40-hour education program in adult teaching and learning concepts is also desirable.
