Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team at Western World Insurance, a leading provider of commercial insurance solutions. As a key member of our Northeast Region team, you will be responsible for underwriting, maintaining, and growing a book of business, developing and maintaining client and broker relationships, and representing Western World and AIG at industry functions and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and maintain a book of business, evaluating and prioritizing submissions
  • Develop and maintain client and broker relationships, identifying new business opportunities and growing existing accounts
  • Represent Western World and AIG at industry functions, conventions, and corporate events
  • Assist in the training of support staff on the team and within the department
  • Participate in special projects and in-house education training
Requirements
  • 5+ years of underwriting experience in a commercial insurance company, agency, or brokerage
  • Property and Casualty experience, with a focus on Excess Liability
  • Technical underwriting skills, including the ability to analyze exposures, coverages, and contract language
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with agents, internal staff, and management
  • Ability to travel independently on company business, up to 25% of the time
