Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our regional team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting, maintaining, and growing a book of business. You will work closely with the team to develop and maintain new and existing client/broker relationships, evaluate and prioritize submissions, and represent Western World and AIG at industry functions, conventions, and corporate events. This is an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and maintain a book of business, ensuring accurate and timely evaluation of submissions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers, identifying new business opportunities and growing existing relationships
  • Represent Western World and AIG at industry events, conventions, and corporate events, promoting our products and services
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement underwriting strategies and procedures
  • Assist in the training of support staff on the team and within the department
  • Participate in special projects and in-house education training
Requirements
  • 5+ years of underwriting experience in a commercial insurance company, agency, or brokerage
  • Property and casualty experience, with a focus on excess liability
  • Professional designations, such as CPCU and ARM, are preferred
  • Strong technical underwriting skills, including the ability to analyze exposures, coverages, and contract language
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with agents, internal staff, and management
  • Ability to travel independently on company business, up to 25% of the time
