Job SummaryAs a Water Resources Engineer at Houston Engineering, Inc., you will play a critical role in solving complex water management issues. Our team is seeking an experienced professional to join our Des Moines, IA office and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for civil and water resources projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement hydraulic and hydrology models to analyze and predict water flow and behavior.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and calculations to inform design decisions and ensure project feasibility.
  • Prepare engineering design services, including scope of work and associated budgets, to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Prepare studies, reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications for civil and water resources projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civil and water resources engineering.
  • IA Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Desire to grow leadership and project management skills.
  • Valid driver's license with availability for periodic travel.
  • Authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship requirements.

Candidates with experience in civil engineering projects, water resources studies, public drainage system repairs, hydrologic modeling, and storm water planning are encouraged to apply. Travel throughout the state/region may be required for project meetings and project management activities.
