Department Overview:

The Quality Management Department at CMHHIP is dedicated to ensuring that our services meet or exceed customer expectations. We focus on maintaining high standards in patient safety and care while identifying areas for improvement through systematic data collection and analysis.

Role Purpose:

The primary objective of this position is to provide critical insights to the Director of Quality Management and other hospital leadership regarding utilization management. This role is authorized to represent the organization in all matters related to utilization management, especially in negotiations with managed care organizations and third-party payers. The position is responsible for developing strategies to enhance revenue through effective utilization management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Oversight: Manage daily incident reports and data entry into the Incident Reporting database, ensuring accurate weekly summaries. Lead the Critical Incident Committee meetings to review incidents with department leaders.
  • Utilization Management: Ensure compliance with clinical standards and maximize hospital revenue by guiding treatment teams in effective resource utilization based on medical necessity.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of patient care and treatment processes, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Supervision: Oversee a team of five full-time staff members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in a related field.

Education: A combination of education and experience equating to eight years is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical field such as Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, or Social Work.
  • Five or more years of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
  • Behavioral health experience and supervisory experience are advantageous.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to navigate complex priorities effectively.

Conditions of Employment:
