Job Overview

As a Relief Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with patients by meeting their needs and delivering safe, precise, and effective care to ensure optimal outcomes for patients, team members, and the organization.

Position Details

  • Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
  • Experience Desired: None
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certification or Licensing Required: Pharmacy; Immunization License and Valid CPR Certification; Valid pharmacy license in multiple states preferred
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
  • Travel Required: Regional - Daily
  • Age Requirement: At least 21 years of age

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all tasks to ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of patient orders by adhering to quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Exemplify outstanding patient care by respecting, engaging, and proactively addressing all patient needs, including counseling and problem-solving.
  • Perform all pharmacist duties, including interpreting, filling, and refilling prescriptions for medications and durable medical equipment, reviewing all clinical aspects of prescriptions, maintaining patient profiles, and ensuring accurate medication delivery.
  • Support the Team Leader in providing an optimal experience for both the team and patients through effective delegation of tasks and efficient resource management.
  • Assist the Team Leader in inventory management and ordering supplies to meet patient needs while maximizing profitability.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile work environment in compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review relevant service and business metrics and collaborate with the team on action plans to enhance outcomes.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and possess knowledge of audit processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of all company initiatives and programs.
  • Stay informed about new medications, therapies, and advancements in the pharmacy field.
  • Maintain professional skills and competencies. Advocate for positive changes in the pharmacy profession to enhance patient care and organizational performance.
  • Continuously develop professional relationships with external partners, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, industry representatives, and vendors.
  • Perform duties of Pharmacy Team Leader and Pharmacy Technician as needed.
  • Assist in mentoring and training new pharmacy team members.
  • Foster a positive work environment for all team members.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members as appropriate, following established guidelines.
  • Comply with all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Administer immunizations and actively engage in clinical services to optimize patient and organizational outcomes.
