Job Summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to provide expert management and support for enterprise-level databases at our facility. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in database administration, system troubleshooting, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Database Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced tools such as SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS to analyze, manipulate, and build reports using data from multiple sources.
  • System Troubleshooting and Repair: Perform thorough troubleshooting and repair of SQL Server systems to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Backup and Recovery Operations: Conduct regular backup operations of system and application databases and servers to ensure business continuity.
  • Security and Compliance: Test, implement, and document applicable DISA STIG settings on database systems to ensure compliance with security regulations.
  • Database Installation and Support: Provide expert installation, support, and development of database systems to meet business needs.
  • Database Design and Development: Develop tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, queries, and other related database manipulation components to support business operations.
  • Legacy Data Migration: Develop and test legacy data migration routines to support deployment and ensure seamless data transfer.
  • Data Profiling and Analysis: Support sequencing diagrams and process flow development, data profiling, data analysis, and logical and physical data modeling to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Database Administration Policies: Define and document database administration policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Infrastructure Evaluation: Evaluate the integration of new tools or technologies based on the capabilities of the existing infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Process Improvement: Make recommendations to management with regards to potential areas for improvement to increase efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science or information technology.
  • Certifications: Must be Security+ certified and hold or be able to obtain Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate certification.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of the software/system development life cycle (SDLC), experience developing tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, and queries, and experience monitoring database usage, troubleshooting data compatibility and integrity issues, and making modifications for enhanced performance.
  • Communication: Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Organized, attentive to detail, and willing to pursue resolutions to issues as they arise.
  • Security Clearance: Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
