Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Role Summary:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the Quality Assurance Department. This position is tasked with the crucial responsibility of conducting in-process sampling of products to ensure compliance with established quality standards. The QA Supervisor must possess a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety protocols to effectively operate across various sectors within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process sampling of products
- Perform visual inspections and execute measurement assessments
- Audit production documentation across all business units
- Communicate quality improvement opportunities to production and quality teams
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain production and quality documentation
- Oversee post-operational inspections to ensure readiness for pre-operational evaluations
- Conduct audits on production documentation for Quality Assurance
- Input trends and Pareto data into the database
- Execute ATP and Environmental Swabs, documenting results
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Train departmental staff on proper documentation and food safety protocols
- Gather necessary information and production packets for audits or management reviews
- Assist in lot investigations and processing
- Perform administrative tasks including filing, paperwork distribution, and typing
Non-Essential Duties:
- Assist with USDA inquiries as they arise
- Complete PNR documentation
- Conduct ongoing inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and maintenance needs are addressed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or similar environment
- Knowledge of HACCP principles is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to accurately track and log measurements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in manufacturing, preferably in the baking sector
- Administrative experience in a manufacturing context is advantageous
Personal Attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Quick learner with the ability to follow instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Employees must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, which may include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is occasionally required.
- Work hours may exceed forty (40) hours per week.
Work Environment:
- Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions while performing job duties.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
- Employees are expected to adhere to all company policies and serve as role models in compliance with these standards.
