Maintenance & Engineering Manager

Based On Talent is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance & Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the business strategy through maintenance and engineering teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.
  • Manage predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance efforts to improve equipment availability and reliability.
  • Analyze maintenance costs and prioritize improvement activities.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support vendor negotiations and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct annual EH&S audits and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Lead facilities planning and machine movement.
  • Manage facility repairs and improvement.

Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing and Flow Optimization:

  • Leverage strategic thinking and technical expertise to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Develop and implement process improvements for fabrication and assembly operations.
  • Analyze workflows to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Syteline, Oracle, and SAP.

Work Environment:

The typical environment will be an office with moderate noise, but extended periods will be spent on the factory floor exposed to very loud noise.

Travel: Less than 10% of the time.
