Job Summary

The Power Electronics Controls and Modeling team at Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Controls Engineer to join their team in developing high-performance controls for a wide range of AC and DC products, including chargers, grid-tied inverters, and resonant DC-DC converters.

As a Power Electronics Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing controls for power conversion systems, evaluating new topologies for controllability and fit to system needs, specifying microcontroller requirements, and developing dynamic models of the system. You will also work with the firmware team to integrate algorithms into the firmware framework and test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience. You should have strong analytical skills with solid device, circuit, and controls theory fundamentals, as well as hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills. Experience with embedded firmware development for real-time controls systems and familiarity with safety and compliance standards for grid-connected power electronics are also required.
