Facilities Associate Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Associate to join our team at the Southern District YMCA. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our members and staff.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the facility, including floors, bathrooms, and other areas.
  • Perform grounds keeping duties, such as lawn maintenance and snow removal.
  • Complete scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance work orders in a timely fashion.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct routine rounds and inspections of property and equipment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of staff, volunteers, and community service workers.
  • Monitor program areas for safety and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Responsible for emergency spill and blood-borne pathogen clean-up.
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance department logs and records.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with five years of related facilities management experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prior experience with equipment operation, including cleaning equipment and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work with chemicals and solvents used in housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend a ladder up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to speak and write concisely and effectively communicate needs.
