Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist

EchoStar Corporation is a leading global provider of satellite communication solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Hughes Network Systems division in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure electrical component quality and reliability.
- Work with suppliers of power supplies, power amplifiers, feedhorns, antennas, servers, board assemblies, and associated SMT components.
- Document and communicate issues using measurement, photographic, and video equipment.
- Provide technical support to Operations/Manufacturing personnel in a fast-paced production environment.
- Work with potential new suppliers to survey their manufacturing capabilities and ensure products meet PPM level quality standards.
- Interact and coordinate with design engineering personnel to ensure smooth product transitions from development to high-volume production.
- Review potential supplier quality issues at incoming inspection, new product introductions, high-volume production, and customer returns.
- Participate in the MRB process to disposition non-conforming materials and drive the associated 8D problem-solving process.
- Support Procurement through input to supplier selection, review of new cost-reduced and alternate parts via the send-ahead process.
- Participate in Concurrent Engineering (CE) Team meetings to communicate problems and work with the team to resolve issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with some component engineering background.
- 2-3 years of relatable work experience.
- Understanding of quality systems and processes such as ISO 9001, AS 9100D, SPC, PPAP, and six sigma methodologies.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
