Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter (Hazardous Materials Technician/Basic Life Support) to join our team at Air Combat Command. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing fire protection and emergency medical services to our personnel and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires, hazardous materials incidents, and medical emergencies
  • Operate firefighting vehicles and equipment, including pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, and Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles
  • Perform Basic Life Support and other emergency medical procedures
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments and develop incident response plans
  • Maintain firefighting equipment and fire station facilities
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience in firefighting, hazardous materials response, or emergency medical services
  • Knowledge of firefighting techniques, procedures, and equipment
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials response procedures and equipment
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads and work in confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations
  • Experience with hazardous materials response and mitigation
  • Experience with emergency medical services, including Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support
  • Knowledge of fire protection and prevention principles and practices
