We are seeking a highly skilled Repair Supervisor to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. as a key member of our Transco Railcar Repair department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the repair operations, ensuring quality and efficiency, and leading a team of hourly employees.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Coaching: Coach, mentor, motivate, and lead hourly employees in all repair activities, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure safe working habits and safe working conditions by performing training for and periodic reviews of all employees and their work areas, supporting the Quality Assurance Department efforts, and maintaining compliance with all OSHA, AAR, FRA, company, and customer requirements.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of all required materials and equipment, working in conjunction with the Material Manager to ensure maintaining proper inventory control and minimizing waste due to excess inventory.
- Employee Development: Participate in employee interviews, new hire orientation training, and employee performance evaluations, providing feedback and guidance to support the growth and development of team members.
- Communication and Collaboration: Participate in daily Production Meetings, providing the status of rail cars in process, and direct subordinates' daily activities, maintaining their job cards.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Preferably 5+ years of supervisory experience within rail car inspections, test, and repair.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration's regulations governing the inspection and test of rail cars, and the Association of American Railroads Interchange Rules; ability to read prints and drawings, including weld and nondestructive testing symbols.
