Defenders of Wildlife is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Finance and Compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain our general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our financial statements.
  • Assist the Director of Accounting and Database Management with the annual Pension Audit and Annual Financial Statement Audit.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics SL/GP or similar accounting database experience a plus.
