Mechanical Engineer IV

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer IV at KARL STORZ GmbH & Co. KG. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing groundbreaking medical imaging systems that push the boundaries of innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, analysis, and testing of sophisticated mechanical systems and components.
- Serve as the mechanical engineering lead on cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and oversee the work of Mechanical Designers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Develop robust, high-performance designs using advanced tools such as FEA, CFD, and tolerance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards by reviewing and approving models, drawings, and prototypes.
- Lead R&D efforts in mechanical technologies, processes, and materials, driving innovation.
- Provide ongoing support for existing product lines while continuously improving departmental processes.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of experience, or a Master's/Doctorate with 8+ years of experience.
- Expertise in SolidWorks, FEA, CFD, and tolerance analysis.
- A track record of successful opto-mechanical or electro-mechanical design projects.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and medical device quality standards.
- Experience working with medical devices, especially endoscopic camera systems.
