Job Summary

The Compliance Specialist II will play a critical role in the Compliance department, supporting the implementation of the Compliance program by conducting privacy investigations, providing guidance on HIPAA/privacy matters, and educating team members on HIPAA and privacy matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate reports of unauthorized access, use, and/or disclosures of PHI by reviewing audits of access in medical records, conducting interviews, and gathering pertinent information.
  • Write summaries of investigations, analyzing facts and evidence, and making consistent recommendations for disciplinary actions.
  • Notify patients of privacy breaches in a timely manner and maintain documentation of investigations and patient notifications.
  • Provide guidance on HIPAA/privacy inquiries and conduct HIPAA training sessions to educate team members.
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing privacy investigations.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA and privacy laws.
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
  • Professional certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHPC, CHC) is a plus.
