Objective:

The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of our accounting department, responsible for maintaining financial integrity and ensuring compliance with established standards. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of general ledger operations, proficiency in journal entry preparation, and familiarity with financial software such as Microsoft 365 Dynamics or equivalent systems.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses for balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidations and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile various accounts, including renewable energy credits and financial instruments associated with wind and solar initiatives.
  • Facilitate the external audit process by providing accurate and reliable financial information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure precise financial reporting.

Financial Operations:

  • Generate key operational and financial analysis reports, offering insights into run rates, forecasts, and discrepancies.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial and operational assessments as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, internal controls, and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of robust accounting controls and documentation to mitigate risks.
  • Analyze complex renewable energy accounting requirements, particularly in relation to tax-equity accounting.
  • Engage in budgeting and tax equity partnership reporting.

Commercial and Transactional Support:

  • Collaborate with M&A, commercial, and asset management teams to support transactions and strategic business decisions.
  • Assist in the integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Provide financial and analytical expertise to promote informed decision-making.
  • Establish strong relationships across departments to facilitate company initiatives.
