EEG Technician

We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a key member of our Neurophysiology/Neurodiagnostic department, you will be responsible for performing neurodiagnostic EEG procedures under the direct supervision of the Manager or designee.
Responsibilities- Perform EEG recordings according to laboratory standards, including routine, sleep, and bedside recordings.
- Measure and accurately apply electrodes using the International 10-20 System, ensuring electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
- Write patient histories, gathering relevant information from patients, their records, and family members, and explain test procedures to patients and family members present.
- Implement alternative methods or adjust controls to obtain optimal recordings, including using extra electrodes, montages, and activation procedures.
- Recognize and document artifacts, eliminate or take proper measures to monitor them.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and report them to the supervisor promptly.
- Participate in conferences and technical meetings.
- At least 1 year of job-related experience, with experience in EEG or Epilepsy Monitoring Unit settings preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, with additional training beyond high school required.
- Graduate of an Accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program or equivalent formal training preferred.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.
