Job Summary

The Rehabilitation Staff Nurse plays a vital role in assisting patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment. This is achieved by designing and implementing treatment strategies that promote physical, psycho-social, and spiritual health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Possess specialized rehabilitation nursing and/or medical-surgical, acute nursing knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide care for people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses.
  • Exercises sound critical thinking skills and nursing judgement.
  • Coordinates educational activities and uses appropriate resources to develop and implement an individualized teaching and discharge plan with patients and their families.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Pennsylvania.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply if they have had work experience as a C.N.A or sufficient amount of work experience as a student.
  • Generally, a minimum of 1-year licensed professional nursing experience is preferred.
  • Must possess sound knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and ANA standards of practice and others as determined by state and federal regulations.
  • Proficient math, keyboarding, and other computer skills required.
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic, rehabilitation team work environment.
Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.

If you are not currently vaccinated, you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
