Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rail Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Alstom. As a Composite Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing rail equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, inspect, and repair rail equipment
  • Repair, replace, and test machinery, components, and systems related to rail equipment
  • Perform mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic activities
  • Review and understand project/activity requests, safety instructions, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Record activities performed and relevant information on report cards or data sheets
  • Perform quality tests and verification to ensure safe performance of sub-assemblies or components
  • Unplug, clean, and repair toilets
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
  • Knowledge of rail equipment systems and sub-systems
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitudes
  • Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Diesel/Mechanical Vocational Certificate required if no relevant experience
  • Manual and/or schematic knowledge
  • Electrical schematic air schematic maintenance manuals illustrated parts catalog
