Railcar Cleaner

GATX is a leading provider of rail-car leasing and maintenance services in North America, Europe, and India. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Railcar Cleaner to join our team.

• Perform thorough cleaning of rail-cars, including interior and exterior washing, high-pressure venting, and commodity sampling.
• Conduct repairs, changes, and improvements to car parts and assemblies in accordance with AAR and GATX standards.
• Operate automatic cleaning and stripping equipment, and inspect cleaned rail-cars to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment in working condition, and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment, and comply with established safety policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, and reason through work details and procedures.
• Knowledge of rail-car repairs, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 51 pounds, and push/pull up to 140 pounds of force.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature environments, and physically enter confined spaces.
