Mechanical Engineering Internship

H3X Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Louisville, Colorado. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our integrated motor drives, which are revolutionizing the electric propulsion industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analysis of failures and establish requirements for sub-systems
- Compile and source Bill of Materials for responsible sub-systems
- Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Perform tolerance stack-ups and convey via GD&T in engineering drawings
- Create build instructions for responsible sub-systems
- Develop Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R) for sub-systems
- Execute testing and characterization of responsible sub-system
- Post-process test results, identify root-cause of potential new issues, and make design recommendations
- Integrate sub-system into full system
- Support future production builds or complete system test
- Identify workplace hazards and implement safe processes
- Maintain testing and production equipment where necessary
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems
- SolidWorks proficient (or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Exceptional understanding of fundamentals
- Action biased, results-driven mentality
- Willingness to learn quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, Metal AM, & composites)
- Experience with producing 2D part drawings & GD&T
- Experience with linear structural FEA
