POWER Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery Substation Department in Denver, Colorado. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and executing medium to extra high voltage utility substation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Execution: Perform and direct others in the detailed design of substation projects, including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
- Mentorship: Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
- Project Management: Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.
- Education: BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in utility substation design, with a strong command of the English language and good written and oral communication skills.
- Professional Qualifications: Professional Engineering license (PE) and experience in 230 kV to 500 kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Competitive Compensation: Base salary range: $80K - $110K.
