Animal Technician Position in Bedford, MA
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Animal Technician to join our team at LabCorp in Bedford, MA. As an Animal Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform animal husbandry duties, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal health.
- Report any animal care concerns and participate in resolution and corrective action.
- Learn and comply with regulatory requirements, including those related to USDA and AAALAC.
- Clean and maintain equipment, including feeders, water bottles, and animal caging.
- Perform cage wash duties and clean and sanitize animal rooms and equipment.
- Assist with the preparation and reception of new animals, including housing setup and documentation.
- Dispense feed and handle/restrain various species.
- Perform health assessments and maintain accurate laboratory records.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a science-related field preferred.
- Prior experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
- ALAT certification or greater is a plus but not a requirement.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills.
Benefits:
LabCorp offers a competitive hourly rate of $20-21/hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, and paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO).
