Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement preventive healthcare and medical treatment protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with Veterinary Care Program SOPs and institutional standards.
  • Provide expert advice on potential clinical complications from experimental procedures.
  • Oversee surgical programs and perioperative care.
  • Coordinate veterinary care for all animal housing units.
  • Diagnose, treat, and conduct necropsies; maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college, or its foreign equivalent.
  • Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation are mandatory.
  • Preference for Diplomate status with the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with small ruminants.
  • Preferred experience with cattle and rabbits.
  • Background or experience in farm animal husbandry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations is beneficial.
