Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Recreation Program Coordinator at Fair Oaks Parks & Recreation. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the administration of recreation programs and activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and coordinate recreation programs and activities, including setup and teardown of equipment and facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, parents, and community members, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including setup, registration, and supervision of activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations to promote recreation programs and services.
  • Prepare and submit reports, attendance records, and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 6 months of related experience and/or training in recreation, youth development, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of recreation programs and services, including youth development principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Working Conditions

The Recreation Program Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with participants, parents, and community members. The position requires the ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and to be flexible in response to changing program needs.
