Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for leading efforts to improve safety and quality performance, supporting plant operations, and implementing process control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to support improvement in safety and quality performance
  • Support plant operations by maintaining process control systems
  • Provide training and sophisticated troubleshooting to the site
  • Implement standards at the site to ensure global consistency of manufacturing systems
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with Plant operations team, Plant quality team, and the CAPEX Engineering Team
  • Own the implementation of process improvement and/or innovation-based projects
Requirements
  • Experience as Systems Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Computer Engineer
  • Experience in Industrial Automation using Rockwell / Siemens/ B&R Automation PLCs or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Industrial Network Communication protocols (Ethernet, DeviceNet)
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical system drawings
  • Sophisticated troubleshooting skills with high-speed manufacturing equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules
  • Experience with instrumentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation; technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to extract, evaluate, and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree or technical certification equivalent
  • Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Industrial Automation software, or equivalent software
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred
  • Experience in systems configuration and maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with coaching and training skilled trades in a unionized environment
